The sorcery Chameleon not only turns you into a box for accurate Solid Snake cosplay, but crucially silences your footsteps so you can sneak through the Frigid Outskirts. If you remove all your armor (to avoid it clanking) and tiptoe in the snow, you will not make a sound and avoid aggroing the horses when they spawn under the cover of a blizzard. If you pause as you enter each of the 3 horse spawning zones and wait for it to spawn the maximum amount of horses, you can then proceed onward and not have to worry about more spawning in front of you. The hearing of the horses is extremely sensitive so you have to be a very long distance away before you can begin walking at full speed. I messed up at the end by falling off the ledge onto the ramp.
