However, were going a 100% block route to deal extra damage and to have more fun. Pound will deal an extra 500% damage depending on how much chance of block that you have. So if your block chance is 100% ( maximum ) your dealing base damage + 500% of your shield block chance. This will all synergize with your Shield Glare and Flail of the Ascended. You may also use shield cross, which is meant for running lower torments a bit faster and maybe power leveling people if this crusader spec is your only option. The build works best with a merc and is more suited for that merc using Defender of Westmarch as well for double wolf proc. Punish ( Fury ) Punish is a great skill and primary that works with this build. If you use Punish you will not only generate some wrath back which is essential to the build. You will also gain hardened senses which grants you the 15% block chance that will bring is over that 100% block chance marker, ( unseen on details menu ). Not only the block chance increase, but if you use the Fury rune you will gain an extra 15% chance to critically hit while hardened senses is active. This is huge if you can synergize your five shield bashes into a hardened sensed shield glare ( FoA ) attack ( Flail of the ascended ). There is a belt, that will let you have all punish runes at once and is a major option to the build. It is almost recommended but you may get to a point where the witching hour is overall just better for damage output. ( Angel Hair Braid ) - That is the name of the Punish 5x rune belt. Laws of Valor ( Critical ) Law of Valor is a law skill and that synergizes with our roland's set shield bash cool down. Because everytime you use shield bash you lower the cool-down of defensive and law skills on the Crusader. This means you should synergize at least one Law into the spec/build. Remember you can only use one Law at a time. Critical is the best option to deal damage, but if you are feeling low on wrath go for the Unstoppable Force rune. Shield Glare ( Zealous Glare ) Shield Glare is going to be your main source of damage with this spec/build. This is mainly due to the synergy between Roland Shield bash and the FoA Flail of the Ascended. FoA will deal all the damage from your last 5 shield bashes combined into one Shield Glare. Zealous Glare is used because we will need Wrath for this build often. Zealous Glare or Shield Glare will also always be cooling down quickly because it is a defensive skill. It also synergizes with Hardened Senses if you can get the timing/rotation correct. Judgment ( Debilitate ) Judgment with the Debilitate rune is necessary for staying alive in Greater Rifts or higher torments. It gives 40% damage reduction and is a defensive skill so it should almost always be available due to the proper synergies from Roland's Armor Set. You can use the resolved rune if you want more damage, however, I don't think it's a good enough increase compared to the 40% damage reduction for surviving. Consecration ( Bathed in Light ) This rune will also be used to survive at higher greater rifts and torments. It is a defense skill so it will be cool downed almost always. Use this to regain life, while shield bashing groups of enemies. Note you should also usually by holding down the shift key while fighting enemies so you don't drift out of your circle of skills and auras. Judgment, and Consecration both of radius or areas of effect. Heavenly Strength Towering Shield Hold your ground Divine Fortress * Wrathful * Heavenly strength is needed to wield both the defender of westmarch as well as the Flail of the Ascended. It makes the entire build synergize so it's necessary. Towering shield will add extra damage and cool down to three of our skills. Hold your ground will give a base increase to block chance, we want that at 100% + so if you are already hitting 100% or are happy with your BC amount ( block chance ) then consider taking this one out for Finery. Divine Fortress increase armor....... Roland Set is the heart of the build it is the core and the whole point. Justice Lantern grants block chance and reduces contorl impairing effects by a large percentage. Stone of Jordan is a prestigious and rare item, especially useful with 20% to physical damage and a socket. Flail of the ascended and Defender of westmarch are the go to weapons that syngergize the build. Angel Hair braid will synergize Punish and Drakkon lesson will work for wrath reduction. HF amulet we need for the 5th passive. Finally for the legendary gems. I suggest bane of the trapped, esoteric alteration, and pain enhancer. Follower should be templar, with defender of westmarch at least. Unity also helps and is a major option in the cube or worn on your crusader for higher greater rifts.
