Eureka Seven Vol. 1: The New Wave (PS2) Gameplay (Hyperkin HDTV Cable for PS2/ PS1)
Namco Bandai released two of these games on the PS2, and from just playing this one, I'm sort of interested in picking up Vol 2. I playtested this game years ago, but put it on the shelf, distracted by other games, and in just playing this gameplay sample footage, I'm kind of hooked. I had to look it up to see, but this is based off an anime series of the same name, but even before I looked it up, I was getting that vibe. With the mixture of gameplay, and storytelling, it almost feels like you are playing an interactive Anime show. I played over an hour into this game just trying to get a gameplay sample, and I like what I have played of it so far. The mech combat isn't them most engaging I've ever played, but it still controlled and played solidly enough. I have no complaints about it, it's actually fun to battle in this game, even if I like other mech combat games a little better, but you can buy new items, and learn new abilities as you play. I don't know how long the game is overall, but from what I have played, I enjoyed my time with it. I liked it enough, I'm putting Eureka Seven Vol. 2: The New Vision. If you are a fan of mech combat games like Steambot Chronicles, Armored Core, Virtual On, and etc, look into Eureka Seven Vol. 1: The New Wave. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with this game today.
