A short edge finder for the unimat mill

Why does the unimat as a mill needs a shorter edge finder? If you don't know - the unimat is a lathe that can be turned down in to a mill in a few minutes. But it has a very short Z axis movement - 16mm to be accurate. Hence, regular edge finders are too long for you to center find the piece and then drill your holes... here is my attempt to help. Regular stubby or short edge finders do exist but they are out of my budget zone... :) I will test this edge finder shortly. Please let me know what you think of this untested idea. Thanks Saar
