Review: Leica M10-P Edition
It may seem odd that I'm reviewing the Leica M10-P since I've already done a comprehensive review of the previous M10 and an unboxing video of the M10-P; but I thought I'd do a real world test and shoot with it on the streets. Is there a difference between the standard M10 and the mid-cycle M10-P model? Yes. The shutter dampening system changes the way the camera feels. I prefer the 'feel' of the M10 without the dampening vibration, but I do prefer the quieter shutter sound of the M10-P. I don't think either will make a difference in your images itself, just the way it makes you feel when shooting with it. If being super quiet is your priority, then the M10-P is the way to go and probably the future of the M body shutter mechanism. Touch screen is nice but is no reason for anyone to upgrade. Overall the latest M10 body compared to the previous M240 is a huge improvement in terms of size, feel and function. I can't wait to see what the M11 will bring to the table. Hopefully improved wifi and the addition of BlueTooth, and perhaps a hybrid EVF/OVF like Fujifilm's X-Pro and X100 series? Is that too much to ask Leica?
