REDFALL performance Fix & Ray Tracing enabled ! (May fix performance on all games).
Okay so been wondering for a while why so many of the latest games laterly been running garbage, particularly Unreal Engine (but not exclusively them). So this performance fix should work for all games that use similar methods for rendering. Specs for refence: 12900k, Asus 690 mobo, DDR5 64gb, RTX 3090, NVME install, Windows 11 latest patches, and all latest drivers. STEP 1: Enable Ray Tracing support & HDR (optional if you want that). So firstly I modded the game's ini file and forced on HDR and all Ray Tracing manually... this file is found at C:\Users\Highw\AppData\Local\Redfall\Saved\Config\GameUserSettings.ini Changed just the following lines.. RayTracedAmbientOcclusion=True RayTracedDirectIllumination=True RayTracedGlobalIllumination=True RayTracedReflections=True RayTracedShadows=True RayTracingEnabled=True HDREnabled=True bUseHDRDisplayOutput=True saved and read protected file. Step 2. PERFORMANCE FIXES: i/ Firstly go to windows 11 desktop, right click and select 'Display Settings' ii/ Then scroll down to the bottom where you see 'Graphics' below Advanced Display, click into that menu. iii/ At the top click into meni called 'Change default graphics settings' iv/ Turn OFF everything in that menu... so that;s Hardware GPUI sheduling, variable refresh, and optimisation for windowed games. REBOOT PC..... then try the game and see how that fairs... additionally I also noticed better performance with HyperThreading DISABLED in BIOS... milage may vary. I have tried this with a few different games today including othe rnew release 'Silica' RTS/FPS game and the results there doubled performance too... so worth checking.
