Nomad x Peak Design: The Rugged Case
This ain't the first rugged phone case out there. But in our humble opinion, it's by far the best. And frankly, it ain't a hard contest to win. Have you ever seen the other rugged phone cases? They look like the belong in an 80's action movie. 'Rugged' doesn't have to mean 'looks like Megatron,' although we fully admit that Megatron looks very cool. In our first ever phone case collaboration, Peak Design joined forces with Nomad—expert case designers and fellow Climate Neutral member—to create a more fortified alternative to the classic Everyday Case. The Nomad x Peak Design Rugged Case dials the protection up to 11 with a tough, yet surprisingly lightweight matte polycarbonate phone case with extended TPU bumpers around your phone’s corners and lenses. It features the same brilliant SlimLink™ mounting system as the rest of our cases, yet boasts a 4.5m (15ft) drop protection rating (more than twice that of the Everyday Case). The new case is currently available for iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models, at peakdesign.com and nomadgoods.com, while supplies last. Nomad is long-renowned for creating phone cases with world-class materials, durability, and attention to detail. In collaborating with them, we’re able to offer Peak Design Mobile ecosystem users with another brilliant case option to suit their preferences. Peak Design now offers more case color, feature, and style options than any other phone mounting ecosystem. And—spoiler alert—there might be even more on the way with Apple’s next phone launch. In executing this collab, we proved out the ability to embed our patented SlimLink™ mounting architecture into a 3rd party case, paving the way for additional collabs with other brands. That said, we’ll be hard-pressed to find a partner with as much in common as the rad crew at Nomad. Our brands were both born on Kickstarter in the early 2010s. We’ve both been on decade-long sustainability journeys, investing in better materials, overhauled packaging, renewable energy consumption, and other carbon footprint reducing measures. And we’re both rag-tag herds of West Coast weirdos, in the best of ways.
