Warcraft III - Armor Upgrades vs. Weapon Upgrades
I was asked whether Armor or Weapon Upgrades actually do more or if they cancel each other out. So I checked with this test in pure mirror matches - meaning each unit is tested against its counterpart with one having all three Weapon Upgrades and the other all three Armor Upgrades. Other upgrades that could have affected the outcome like Hardened Skin, Marksmanship or Envenomed Spears were not used - and the same goes for abilities like Pulverize. Of course once more I set all damage to their average or let it alternate between the two closest damage values if the average ends with .5 damage. !!! And please keep in mind that even when it says that a matchup was a draw that there can be a different value between Armor and Weapon Upgrades - it just means that the difference is small enough that it wouldn't matter in such a pure 1v1 situation. !!! And I did not use any units that don't use both kind of Upgrades like Glaive Throwers or Demolishers or that can't attack their own unit type like Destroyers or Chimaeras.
