Lanse Aux Meadow Vikings: AWE-INSPIRING Struggle of a Nearly Forgotten Age

We visit Lanse Aux Meadows and explore the epic sagas of the Lanse Aux Meadow Vikings! Lanse Aux Meadows is an inspirational National Historic Site on the northern finger of Newfoundland, Canada. In the 1960’s, Anne Stine and Helge Ingstad uncovered Viking artifacts and the foundations of a 1000-year-old Viking settlement. It is very likely that this settlement is one and the same as the settlement spoken of in Eric the Red’s saga. It’s awe-inspiring to stand on the same earth as the courageous Norsemen that faced their mystical fears of sea serpents and their beliefs in an Earth that comes to an end, as well as the raw reality of the destructive force of the North Atlantic Ocean itself, to sail thousands of miles from European shores to uncover a new world. The Lanse Aux Meadow Vikings story is a fascinating one about brave explorers fearlessly discovering and settling undiscovered land.
