Tear gas, water cannons used against protesters in Sri Lanka

Police fired tear gas and used water cannons to disperse protesters at a massive anti-government rally in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The march was reportedly organized by the Inter-University Students Federation (IUSF) to demand the removal of suspensions imposed on several student activists for their anti-government stances.
