In the 1920s and 1930s, Austria was one of the most passionate countries about football in the entire world, and the success of the national team during that era, who would later go on to be nicknamed the "Wunderteam", was a huge contributor to the sport's development. However, the team itself, led by star men such as Matthias Sindelar, Josef Bican, and Josef Simstik, isn't talked about as much as other teams that have shaped the image of football as much as they did, in spite of how influential they were, and still are to this day.
