[DOOM 2] Shaitan's Luck MAP 30 UV max in 20:47 by Ancalagon
"An awesome map that long ago I considered to be possible for UV-Speed only, then I got the idea of maxing sunlust map30 and because of the naming clash I ended doing this instead. I wish there were more map30s like this, not only a good slaughter map, but the addition of monster spawners keep pressure on the player for the entire map. The main problem about maxing this map is that there is no way to track all the kill, there are 4 viles that teleport in the map and, if they resurrect a monster that was placed in the map since the start too and you miss it, the max is supposed to be invalid. But then spawners summon more viles into the map and, as I understand from speed of doom map30 maxes being valid, their resurrections don't count. There is no way to track this with any of the HUDs, but the map is epic enough that I decided to make a demo that could fit as a max of this particular map. I simply killed all the monsters that are possible to kill and didn't worry about resurrections. Only 75% secrets are possible due to one secret being placed in an unnescapable pit. Aimed for 1954/1976 kills cause: -2 imps are inside columns, it's possible to kill them shooting plasma until some gets into the columns but that looks pretty dumb and destroys the flow of the demo -8 cacos are impossible to kill -8 cybers are mixed with barrels and romero's heads at the end of the map -4 revs are near those cybers, they can be killed but they are in a place that's hard to hit and you got no control about when the cybers are gonna end the map, require all these revs to be killed is nonsense I don't know if this can count as a legit max in this map or someone got a better idea. Got 1958/1976 here cause 3 of those revs and 1 cyber died in this demo. And about the run, route and stuff, my idea was to first do a lap around the map killing all the monsters that aren't imps and ignoring most of tower monsters, that way on the second lap I must only aim for towers, imps, viles, cacos and pains cause some teleport in. Sub 20 mins should be doable, I got some better runs where I could get that time, but here I lost some time looking for a last monster when it was a baron right on the way to the end (I though it was a caco or a pain) Other exits were 22:27 (wasted around a minute killing the 2 imps in the columns in this one) and 22:06, plus plenty of quits after missing some monsters."
