Cyndy Sheldon, MSW, Gestalt therapist and trainer for over 50 years, is interviewed by fellow Gestalt therapist, Christiane Elsbree, MSW, from Seattle. This is video two of three in a series of interviews by Christiane. This video addresses the topic of the Original Gestalt Institute of San Francisco & Cyndy’s Gestalt history. Cyndy Sheldon is a student of Fritz Perls who along with his wife Laura Perls, began creating Gestalt therapy in the 50’s. Cyndy was co-founder of the original Gestalt Institute in San Francisco in 1967, the third in the nation. In 1961 she heard a voice telling her, “You will be doing this work for the rest of your life” Cyndy has been practicing Gestalt Therapy ever since then.
