Intro to Rigging in C4D: Part 3 - Constraints & C-Motion

Intro to Rigging in C4D: Part 3 - Constraints & C-Motion Join Cinema 4D expert instructor Joe Herman for a comprehensive six-part webinar series that will show you how to use the world-class rigging tools in Cinema 4D. Follow Joe on Twitter & Instagram: @JoeHermanArtist Episode 3: Constraints & C-Motion - Intro to C-Motion - Using C-Motion to make the bird wings flap - Rigging an anthropomorphic character with FK arms and IK feet - Creating a controller - How to set up squash and stretch on IK bones - Using C-Motion to create a walk cycle for the character Download project files and course outline: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/emdxnp527fcqi8o/AAD5IKcSB96RSPoOgYj65P5za?dl=0 Ask a question: askthetrainer@maxon.net Rigging is a crucial skill to have in the field of computer animation, enabling you to animate fully articulated 3D characters, anthropomorphic forms, mechanical objects and more. This series will start with the fundamentals and progress to accomplished rigging concepts, including point weighting, constraints, FK, IK and pose morphs. It will also cover other important topics such C-Motion, C4D's powerful tool to generate cyclical motion, and the Pose Library, a critical tool for performing character animation. Get comfortable with rigging in just 6 weeks! These 2-hour sessions are designed for artists with little to no experience in rigging and will be run inside of Cinema 4D R25, with sample project files and assets provided. Attendees are invited to follow along with the techniques shown throughout the session, however they are also recorded and available to re-watch in your own time. 00:00:00 Welcome 00:01:21 Course Overview 00:03:00 Today’s Topics 00:06:36 Housekeeping 00:08:39 Muscle Bulge 00:12:22 __ PoseMorph 00:20:03 __ Shaping a muscle 00:23:22 __ Angle dependent 00:29:10 Q Poser to Cinema 4D 00:30:34 __ Tip – Muscle System 00:32:48 Picking Up objects 00:35:53 __ Auto keyframing 00:41:00 __ Constrain [Parent] 00:44:21 __ Set Offset Keys 00:56:35 Q Would Dynamics help 01:02:20 Q Keyframes, Step 01:05:10 Q Double Constrain 01:06:11 Q Center Up vector 01:08:01 Rigging a Bird 01:09:51 __ Joint Tool 01:14:16 __ Align [joints] 01:15:50 __ Mirror Tool, Naming 01:17:37 __ Hierarchy [joints] 01:18:22 __ Weighting 01:28:38 Q Naming L_ R_ 01:29:12 __ Constraining Eyes 01:30:40 __ Fixing Weight 01:31:53 Q What is Normalization 01:33:32 C-Motion for Wings 01:38:33 __ Flap [Pitch R_X] 01:40:09 __ Phase 01:47:13 __ 2nd Wing 01:50:51 __ Time [speed] 01:51:53 __ Neck 01:54:04 __ Hub [master] 01:55:59 __ Animating details 01:58:45 __ Static, Line, Path 02:01:12 Rigging Legs and Feet 02:01:38 __ Example 02:03:08 Q C-Motion preset 02:04:42 Q Object scaled 02:06:40 Weighting Eyes 02:13:35 Q Weight Color to Texture 02:13:53 Q Path and Position 02:17:19 Themes in part 4 02:21:14 Thank you
