Amaurobius similis matriphagy PT2

Checked the Amaurobius similis this morning at 5:30am and the first thing I noticed was the frenetic behaviour of the spiderlings. I knew that something was different and then, they started to bite and you can see the females reaction to this as she tries to kick them off. Then my phone rings and it's my lift for work and believe me I was so close to throwing a sicky but unfortunately spider watching doesn't pay the mortgage. So this is the video of the beginning of the young consuming their mother.
