Balanchine always reminded us that first and foremost we were there to entertain the audience. He'd say, "New York is full of wonderful things to see. like musicals, museums, plays, opera movies. Why should public want to see you? You must entertain them! Show them SOMETHING!" So here I am in the last days of my performing career trying to "entertain." I'm a bit wild I know...but Mr. B liked that about me. I never held anything back. The other leads in this Finale movement of my SITAR CONCERTO are Reid Olson and Sophie Grizybowski, Nancy Davis Lane and Christopher Boatwright, and Colette Ober dancing with me. We always finished our shows with some upbeat number to send the audiences home happy. With Diane Doban, Diane Diefenderfer Hanlon, Evette DeMarco Swinson, Kevyn O'Rourke, Patrick Russell, Rudi Simpson, Edward Tuell, Matthew White.
