Esky ES013 Bluetooth Scanner
This bluetooth wireless barcode scanner is very light and small. It weighs about 6.1-oz, handle measures about 4.5 x 2-in, and scanner head measures about 3.5 x 2.5 x 1.5-in. This barcode scanner can read barcode such as UPC and EAN, and works with Microsoft Windows XP/7/8, Mobile6/Wince, Android 4.0 Above, Apple iOS 7, and Mac OS-X. Bluetooth setup on a mobile device can be a little tricky, but wired setup is very simple. You can pair the scanner to your devices via Bluetooth, using the included USB, or wired cable (if your device does not have Bluetooth). The user guide came with simple instructions to pair the scanner to Windows, Android and iOS devices, however it can be a little hard to understand. I paired the scanner to my iphone 5S, following the instruction. When asked to input a 4 digit-code, I had to scan the digit with number barcode to the right of the instruction. Remember to scan “Exit without Save” when you are finished or the scanner will not pair. I did find it a little difficult to scan the number barcode since they were tiny and so close to each other. I do wish there would be an easier method. Once the barcode scanner is paired with your device, using it is very easy. Simply hold the scanner to or over a barcode then click the trigger to scan the barcode. Once scanned, the barcode will output the barcode number. This barcode scanner works up to 30-cm off a barcode and can send information to a device up to 10-meter. This scanner is useful for scanning barcode/UPC to a spreadsheet or to test if a UPC barcode will scan. I love that it is cordless so I no longer have to worry about untangling cords or cords getting in the way of me working effectively. I also like that it can store a large about of barcode data and output them later onto a spreadsheet. I would had liked if the included USB receiver was shorter and not as long and the product had a ON/OFF button or switch to conserve that battery life. Also, keep in mind that you will need to keep the user guide and all the material that came with the scanner safe since you will need the barcode on them to either reset the scanner or clear all stored data. I received this product at a no cost in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. I was not required to leave a good review. The opinion in this review is my own.
