Making a Big Concave Radius on the Lathe (2160p_25fps_AV1-128kbit_AAC)

In this video you vcan see how I made the big concave anvil I used on the desk lamp restoration video on the main channel. I needed this piece to reshape the completely dented reflector. I made it out of plastic, so it won't make any damage or scratches to the aluminium of the reflector. I used a wood working tool with a carbide insert and clamped it in a jig that was pivoting around the toolpost shaft. With this technique I was able to make a perfectly spherical radius on the face of the part. Regarding the jig, the tip of the tool needs to be in the center of the spindle and for making a spherical radius the center of the toolpost shaft has to line up with the center of the spindle. I hope you like my work and the video.
