PODCAST 3 of 5 - RAF HARROWBEER, YELVERTON, PLYMOUTH’S WARTIME AVIATION MUSEUM.

PODCAST 3 of 5 - CITIZEN HERITAGE RAF HARROWBEER, YELVERTON, PLYMOUTH’S WARTIME AVIATION MUSEUM. More local relevant heritage here per sq ft than other local similar establishments. Mike Hayes (owner) tells us “RAF Harrowbeer was first introduced to me back in 1997 by one my potential customers…….the person who was selling the building never said anything about a nearby airfield or its connection with World War II and PLYMOUTH, this potential customer introduced me to it on the way back to our house back in Redhill…….the wife and I were talking and I said if were lucky enough to get the building I would want to know who worked here what they did, why they did it and how they did it!!!! We were successful, the research started towards the end of 1997 and it’s been going on ever since, to me it was an interest that became a hobby, became a passion, and has now become an obsession. I have a very understanding wife Lucy who is a treasure and I could not do the work without her.” Tel in advance 01822 853679, FREE entry, but feel free to make a donation, Mike funds all of this out of his own pocket with no nice external funding.
