Is it worth it??! - Playstation Pro 1080p Streaming on Remote Play Preview - Sernoir Today I'm doing a test run with the new Playstation Pro which can now stream with Remote Play in 1080p quality. I would say it's only worth buying the Playstation Pro if you're going to do a lot of streaming with Remote Play. The difference between 720p and 1080p is pretty significant so you WILL notice a massive improvement. Definitely worth it in this case. If you don't have a PS4 at all, you may want to consider just getting the Pro outright because the price difference is negligible and you can get a bit more power/storage for the money. The other factor is that Xbox could already do 1080p streaming with its less powerful components so the question you could ask is 'why is Sony so far behind on these features?'. To get more value for money, Xbox is probably a good option to look at if you're not fussed with which console you buy. Just check the games you want to play are available! I've used Destiny in this video as the scenery is nice and could give you a good idea of the streaming quality. Unfortunately as it's still going through an internet connection, you need good upload speed which I do not have so the quality isn't true 1080p. Feel free to comment below with any questions or if there's something specific you'd like to see with the PS4 Pro to help you decide whether it's worth buying. For me the PS4 Pro was a must have with my current setup purely for game recording. This is the only reason that I considered buying a new PS4 since my normal one is just fine; until I tried out Remote Play. After some research it seemed the Xbox could already do what I was trying to do so it was a bit disappointing. All my games were on PS4 and I just prefer the controller so the option was clear. If you've got a 4K TV , that's another huge advantage with buying the Playstation Pro. My main question is will the PS4 Pro be able to stream in 1440p quality with just a simple software update, or will we need to buy another console to achieve this? Obviously you'd need good internet but I can't see why they couldn't give us the option to choose a higher resolution to at least test if it's possible.
