QEMU SEGA Rally 2 Championship (1999)

The GAME comes with great CD music tracks. Unfortunately, it seems to use obscured MCICDA WinMM APIs that only work on Win98/ME. Common wisdom is to use _INMM wrapper and remaster the PLAY CD with ripped music tracks in OGG or MP3 format. Yes, that will work and it also makes the GAME playable on the more stable Win2K/XP VM. Anyway with QEMU Win98/ME VM "pristine condition" preservation, there is no extra hassle to remaster the PLAY CD other than just ripping the CD into CUE/BIN to include audio tracks information and Daemon Tools within Win98/ME VM will do just fine with it. QEMU Virtualization delivers the performance for solid 60 FPS gameplay with crisp & high-quality BGM at the same time on modern systems. There is no need to use QEMU to play the GAME in VM, remastering PLAY CD is quick & simple on modern PCs. And with such, the GAME should be playable on native Windows 10/11. However, the GAME installation also mess with Windows Registry SHELLEXT registration to register the MUSASHI GAME engine DLLs. While the GAME uninstallation may be able to clean those up, it is better be safe than sorry by playing the GAME in VMs. Otherwise, messing up a good modern Windows 10/11 installation with 20-year old Retro Game engine DLLs that were targeting Win98/ME would merely be asking for troubles. This is the time-saving, effortless & peace of mind that playing in VM would offer. Oh well, the "other camp" emulator can play the GAME, too, just make sure it runs on Ryzen 3700X or better. It will be fine,😜 at least for the game without music.
