MPS Card Authentication with Printers (using TCPConv 2)
The Elatec TCPConv 2 enables card based features (such as authentication and pull printing) on devices that do not have support for the direct connection of a USB proximity card reader (i.e. single function printers). The card reader connects directly to the TCPConv 2, which is connected to the printer. When a card is swiped, the TCPConv 2 sends the card data directly to the authentication server. In this way, the card data completely bypasses the single function printer. As a result, the TCPConv 2 can work with network printers from any printer manufacturer.
