The 872G is a freestanding cross beam laser with one horizontal and one vertical beam. It comes with two strong folding legs as well as the shock resistant rubber casing. The 872G is a self-leveling laser up to three degrees and it actually has an audio and visual indicator for if it's out of level, let's knock it out of place here. You can hear that tone as well as the flashing light to know that it's out. Simply set it back down and it will self level itself again. The 872G has an indoor range of 100 feet or 30 meters and an outdoor range of 200 feet or 60 meters with the detector. Aside from the strong folding legs and the shock resistant rubber casing, the 872G does have a quarter inch thread on the bottom, making it tripod ready. It also comes with a pouch for carrying as well as a 5/8 inch adapter for a tripod. With all that said, let's take a look at the controls for the 872G. On the top of the 872G, you'll find three buttons. The top button with the lock is going to indicate your manual mode. The middle button is going to designate your vertical and horizontal line selection, and the bottom button is going to be your outdoor pulse mode. To activate manual mode on the 872G, simply press and hold the lock button until the laser turns on and it will flash every 3 seconds to let you know it's in manual mode. This allows you to tilt your laser if you have any angled marking or layouts to do. The folding legs are really helpful in this case, giving you the option to set it at an angle. To turn off your manual mode, simply flip your laser on and you can turn it back off if you're done with it. I hope you found this video helpful.
