It's Leroy! But, It's Also Leroy... | Tekken 8 Leroy Smith Trailer Reaction and Analysis
Leroy's a weird one for me. In Tekken 8, he looks more or less the same as he did in Tekken 7; he doesn't have anything that makes him stand out like the other characters so far. And that makes sense, in Tekken 7 he clearly was a Tekken 8 character that they turned into DLC because of the game's success (like SFV Luke). However, that's exactly the problem, he looks the same as before with very little different about him. Even with Paul, for example, his ability to guard crush gives a new, interesting way to play the character. Every character so far has at least one thing new like that, except for Leroy. It makes it hard to be really excited for him since we know more or less exactly how he's going to play, plus me personally not liking how he played at a fundimental level in Tekken 7. Leroy is certainly one of the characters, like Jack, where I feel like I need to see actual gameplay to get any idea on whether I'll like him or not. Who knows, maybe he'll have a bunch of interesting nuances that we can't see from the trailer. That's what I hope, anyway.
