Horizon Forbidden West Standard and Special Editions will not offer Dual Entitlement
‘Horizon Forbidden West’s Standard and Special Editions will not offer Dual Entitlement, Sony has announced. The upcoming action role-playing game – being developed by Guerrilla Games – will release on February 18, 2022, for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 with pre-orders now available. The title will be available in five different editions, including both digital PS4 and PS5 versions, a physical Special edition, a Collector’s Edition, and the Regalla Edition. However, on the official Frequently Asked Questions page for the game, Sony revealed that purchasers of the Standard and Special Editions will not be able to upgrade from the PS4 version to the PS5 version. They wrote: “To access both the PS4 and PS5 versions of Horizon Forbidden West, you need to purchase the Digital Deluxe, Collector’s, or Regalla Editions. Dual entitlement does not apply to the Standard and Special Editions.” It was also revealed that they currently have “no plans for an update offer from Standard to Digital Deluxe Edition at this time.” Sony also noted that players who purchase the Digital Deluxe, Collector’s, or Regalla Edition will be able to transfer their saved data from PS4 to PS5.
