KEF E301 vs KEF 3001Se (E305 vs 3005Se)
In comparison we look at the KEF E301 speaker vs the older KEF 3001Se. The Kef System KHT 3005Se was at theyer time in higher class than the E305 System was. Lets look how they Sound: For this comparison i calibrate Both with Audyssey XT32 and play them as fullrange with out the subwoofer. Surprisingly they Sound is nearly identical, but there is some little advantage for one against the other. The 3001Se dig round about 8Hz deeper. I measure at -5db from reference 52hz on the 3001se and 60Hz on the E301. Furthermore, the E301 struggles at Fullrange with high volumes. You hear some nasty Portsounds. The Sound from the 3001Se is over all slightly more sophisticated and spatial but not by far. Also the minds are bit better. Voices are stronger with more body. Even if I set the Speakers to Small with a crossover from 100hz, which are recommended, the E301 lacks a bit off Bass compared to the 3001Se. From design i like the E301 more. They look with theyer frosted Black and silver stands more pleased for me. Verdict: It was hard to hear a real difference between them. If you listen carefully than the KEF 3001Se are by a margin better. If we look at the hole System than the gab grow a bit, because the Kef 3005Se has a much better Center Speaker too(which i don't include in this comparison). For more questions write in the comments.
