Top 10 British Slang | Learn English| First Live Stream

Hello guys. Welcome to the first Live Stream of Stew Sensei on YouTube. Today he is talking about the Top 10 British slang and the different meaning of that word in British and American English. So the first word for today is bonkers. Bonkers does mean crazy. You can use it in a couple of different ways. You can do it when you are referring to something. But mostly it uses as a surprise about something that's happened. Let's move to the different word which is Nappy. Nappy is the American term of this word. And the British term for this word is Diaper, the baby's wear. Actually, it's not slang though. So let's move to the 3rd word, which is Posh. so what is the meaning of Posh? In the American term, Posh is used in reference to items or it can be in reference to people as well. Posh would refer to something that costs a lot of money basically. In the British term when people refer to someone of a higher or what we'd see as a richer person and someone who talks with maybe a more certain style of accent in a positive way. But when referring to a person can be seen very negatively. The next word is Blinding. Blinding is the same as lush basically. It used to mean terrific, a wicked, class, crack into. There is a word which many people use and that is cuppa. So what do you think cuppa means? It used in British a lot. Usually, it used as I'll have a cup of tea. There is a lot of words like this.
