Prof. Manuel Arellano - ERC evaluator’s perspective. Meeting with ERC Scientific Council
Polish Academy of Sciences organised a workshop entitled “Meeting with members of the ERC Scientific Council”. The event took place on 24 October 2019 in Warsaw. Presentations were given by European Research Council Scientific Council members (Barbara Romanowicz, Andrzej Jajszczyk, Manuel Arellano, Tomas Jungwirth and Nektarios Tavernarakis), ERC grant laureates (Piotr Achinger, Andrzej Dziembowski, Michał Németh) and representatives from Polish Academy of Sciences. Presentations and discussion were focused on specific rules of that prestigious funding system, on excellence both scientist and proposal, evaluation process and how to write a successful proposal. Third of parallel sessions was dedicated to social sciences and humanities. Prof. Manuel Arellano, economists from CEMFI, Madrit, gave a speech entitled “Applying for ERC grants in social sciences and humanities domains – ERC’s perspective”.
