RAW Gameplay - NVidia SHIELD Impressions: Asphalt 9: Legends [ANDROID]
Raw gameplay. Asphalt 9: Legends [ANDROID] DEVICE: NVidia Shield Pro (2019) This is exceptional in how pointless it is. As if Asphalt could not become a more obvious Pay2Win game that requires no skill... Asphalt 9 indeed makes it even more obvious. Default controls for this are basically an idiot proofed commuter game. No steering, not acceleration, just full auto infinite runner with a superficial interaction of "Nitro" basically. That means your competitive ability in this game is 100% dictated by upgrades, and you do not even have to try to "play" it. Even with the "full controls" activated, you do not have full control. The car is in constant accelerate mode, and while you can steer, it feels even less responsive than Asphalt 8. The fake interaction is highlighted in Multiplayer. And here I draw your attention to several issues. I had to switch to a WiFi connection to the router that is quite literally sitting right next to my Shield, and normally connected by a "less than 1 meter" ethernet cable. That is not just to play multiplayer... this game will not let you even load into the menu screen, or single player tutorial or anything... not unless you are WiFi connected. Think about what kind of bullshit that is. Now, the multiplayer lobby tries to make it appear like you are playing against human players, but during the race you definitely feel the opponent cars are behaving exactly how cheating-mobile-app-AI behave. They are all overpowered, and they will allow you to think you have a chance in small bursts, but suddenly while your vehicle is hit with MYSTERIOUS control issues (which happened to me) forcing you into a wall, or forcing you to crash because you are doing too well... or just plain drag out your recovery/respawn setup while ALL other "players" receive little to no speed penalties for collisions, and immediate resets from their crashes. This is just a monstrously shameful display of GREED! Why even offer this on the Shield? It actually devalues the device by having this as one of the few playable games to choose from.
