how to install Windows XP on an iMac
This was an old school project made to create controversy among tech nerds. I got an A in this project in 8th grade. I found this video on Google Drive then uploaded it onto YouTube. Story of the iMac: My parents bought it new in late 2011. It was used regularly by them, and me until I got my own PC, until they got a newer one in the fall of 2017. They then allowed me to take the old iMac and mess around with it. I factory reset it and after that it was quite a capable machine. It ran quite quickly on the newest version of macOS for a few months. I then got bored, made an XP disc, and made this video. After that, I loaded Windows 10 on this thing and it was actually quite a powerful computer. I even found official Windows drivers for the Mac made by Intel and Apple. I realized I didn’t need it anymore and didn’t feel like selling it, so I dismantled the whole thing, salvaged some components, and threw the body shell in the recycling bin in the fall of 2018. When I later built my ATX gaming PC in the following summer, I used some of the old iMac components such as the speakers and hard disk. I still use the hard disk for some program storage, and have attached the speakers to my monitor with a new audio setup including a proper amplifier. iMac specs: 4GB DDR3 laptop RAM 1TB 3.5” Western Digital 7200RPM HDD Quad-core Intel i5 CPU running at 3.something GHz Some sort of AMD Radeon for graphics 21” 1080p 60 Hz LCD made by LG There is no real reason why you’d want Windows XP on a 2011 iMac. I couldn’t ever find Audio drivers for Windows XP and the system was really confused as to what my hardware was. Apple never officially supported Windows XP for their iMacs, and their website states that it won’t even run. I didn’t use boot camp for this install and doing this WILL remove macOS.
